When we first opened our regional co-working space in the main street of Tanunda in 2019, we were met with a myriad of unsure questions like 'what exactly is a co-working space?' and 'why would people pay money to use it?'

And understandably so - that was a time when travelling 90mins to work for an 8 hour day in the office then another 90mins home again was the norm for my hubby Sam, and so many like him! Fast forward four challenging and 'interesting' years (that's the nice way to put it!) and many more have embraced the notion that we can be productive from anywhere - and businesses have offered more trust in work to get done remotely.

Co-working communities have now taken the business world by storm as they offer a unique and flexible solution to the traditional office setting - sharing the costs and hassle of running an office space. Not only do they provide a productive environment to work in, but they also offer so much more than that. Unlike the home office, we have more opportunities to connect, share stories and experiences with like-minded people, and create a sense of belonging. Conversations will happen.

"First and foremost, co-working spaces are all about community. They bring together people from different industries and backgrounds, creating a vibrant group of individuals who share common values. We share our space with computer programmers, business consultants, financial planners, workforce services, tourism operators and so much more! This community aspect is what sets coworking spaces apart from traditional offices – it's not just a place to work, it's a place to belong." Shelley Cox, founder

The community aspect allows members to connect with like-minded individuals who share their passion and drive. This can lead to new business partnerships, collaborations, and even friendships.

Working remotely or running a solo business can be isolating at times, but coworking spaces offer a sense of camaraderie and support that can help combat those feelings. Members can bounce ideas off each other, offer advice and encouragement, and celebrate each other's successes.

Workspace Barossa offers high-speed internet, meeting rooms, printing services, and other amenities that can be costly or difficult to obtain when working from home. We also have our monthly events where members and our wider business community can come together over a casual cuppa, chat and help make these important connections. RSVP to our next one Thursday 18 May 9am-10am.

Our community offers so much more than just a productive space to work in. It provides opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals, share stories and experiences, and create a sense of belonging. For anyone looking to start or grow their business, we'd love to welcome you into Workspace Barossa. BOOK A TOUR
